‘The month of Ramadan is the one in which the Quran was sent down, a guidance for mankind, clear proofs for the guidance, the Criterion; so whoever amongst you witnesses this month, let him fast it.’

HELP FEED THE FASTING THIS RAMADAN

Ramadan 2023 will not be the same for everyone. But millions of Muslims worldwide will not enjoy their Ramadan as we do. They’ll struggle to find sufficient food for Suhur and Iftar. They won’t have enough water to drink or perform ablutions with. The anxiety of parents will increase as they worry about how they’ll provide food for their fasting families. But everyone will persevere and pray for a miracle – just enough food so they can fast.

Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality for millions of Muslims in Bangladesh. It’s the reason why we, as a Muslim charity, need to increase our efforts in Ramadan. Ummah Hands has been working to aid the needy for 10 years+. We provide safe drinking water, Iftar and Suhur Food Packs to thousands of needy families and displaced people in some of the world’s poorest communities and refugee camps.

This year, the need is even greater. The poor have gotten poorer and refugee camps overcrowded. Our on-the-ground staff and volunteers are reporting high levels of food poverty. Ramadan 2022 is looking very bleak.

Can you donate Zakat or Lillah, or give your Sadaqah donation to Ummah Hands this Ramadan? With your Ramadan donations, we can continue to help ease the burden of poor Muslims.

Help Widows And Orphans This Ramadan

This Ramadan, let your Zakat and Sadaqah donation bring relief to the most vulnerable. In Bangladesh, there are many widows with orphan children who struggle to feed their families. Unfortunately, there is little or no official help. These women can rarely earn an income, as there are few jobs and little opportunities for them. With the prices of food sky-rocketing, many of their families will go hungry this Ramadan. Can you help?

‘The person who strives on behalf of the widows and poor is like those who strive in the way of Allah and like those who fast in the day and pray at night.’

(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, 131).

‘The person who strives on behalf of the widows and poor is like those who strive in the way of Allah and like those who fast in the day and pray at night.’

(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, 131).

£25 a month can provide a widow with a food pack to feed her family, clothing and medical care.
£25 a month can provide an orphaned child with food, shelter, clothing and enables them to receive an education.

Give The Gift Of Education This Ramadan

Education gives a child the opportunity for a better future. Even a basic education makes a difference to a person’s earning capacity. People who earn better can give back to society and become responsible, contributing members of their communities. Ummah Hands implements educational projects in the UK and Bangladesh. This Ramadan, we’re building a school in Bangladesh and supporting the Hifz education of children from underprivileged communities. Can you help?

Jamiah Darussunah School

Can you help us build Jamiah Darussunah school in Jagganathpur? Most children who live here do not get their fundamental human right to an education. Our school will have the capacity to accommodate 200 children. We need a total of £20,000 to fulfil this vision, and have raised £10,000 so far. Can you help us with your Muslim charity donations of Zakat, Sadaqah, Lillah?

Hifz Sponsorship

Will you help us help children who want to become Hafezes but whose families cannot afford the fees? Your Zakat donation of £250 will fund the fees of a child in Quran school, and assist him/her with related expenses as well. Donate towards our Muslim charity to enable children to learn the Qur’an and receive an education.

Sponsor a Hafiz

Ummah Hands Hafidh sponsorship program is a perfect example of Sadaqah Jariyah – reaping the rewards of ongoing generosity while tackling poverty and providing access to education. It takes just £21 per month to give the gift of education to a child at one of our Hifdh schools. A single donation of £250 will provide one child with an entire year of Islamic education. Plus, each donation also covers the cost of food, healthcare, and accommodation for the sponsored child. Your generosity won’t just provide the promise of a brighter future – it will also ensure a safe haven for a child currently in need.

Ummah Hands Accepts Zakah, Sadaqah, Lillah

Make Ramadan 2022 your best Ramadan by helping the most vulnerable. Donate towards many of our ongoing projects and earn rewards which will be beneficial now and in the Hereafter.

Where Your Zakat Goes

Ummah Hands has a 100% Zakat policy! That means every pound you donate goes directly to the people who need it most. All Zakat received is transferred to our field offices and partner organisations so our staff and volunteers can use the funds to provide immediate help on the ground. Because they are familiar with local conditions, project roll-out is efficient and funds are maximised.

How To Calculate Zakat

Zakat is calculated on your unencumbered wealth (savings or money that is not allocated for living expenses or  anything else). This wealth must be in your possession for one lunar calendar year. The minimum amount this must be for you to be liable for Zakat is the value of Nisab.
To be sure of your Zakat amount, feel free to use our Zakat Calculator here. Our 100% Zakat Policy means that your donated Zakat will go directly to the needy.
Many of us do our Zakat calculation in Ramadan, but you can give your Zakat throughout the year, when you encounter needy people.

NISAB
The value of Nisab is

  • 87.48 grams of gold
  • 612,36 grams of silver

‘Whoever draws near to Allah by performing any virtuous deed (in Ramadan) shall be like the one who had performed an obligatory act (Fard) in any other time, and whoever performs an obligatory act (Fard), shall be like the one who performed seventy obligatory acts in any other time.’

Take advantage of this promise and donate Zakat without delay.
