Our vision
Our vision at Ummah Hands is to transform the lives of disadvantaged people of our global community. We are a UK-based charity organisation that supports many different projects covering our various focus areas, here and in Bangladesh. We have our Winter Appeal, water projects, emergency response to crises, poverty alleviation, and providing Qurans to underprivileged Muslims.
Your Islamic help assists those most in need. You will be sure to find an ideal programme whether you feel passionate about feeding the hungry, empowering local communities and/or bringing education to Muslim children who are orphaned or destitute. If you are looking for a worthy cause for your zakaat, lillah or sadqah, consider our projects.
Imagine how you would feel if a single child, maybe your child cannot access basic human rights like his or her right to education. Imagine if this is because you live in an area without basic necessities like clean, healthy running water or fresh food, forget schools; or because you are simply unable to afford the school fees. Or, maybe your young child has to work to help you feed the family.
Thousands of children in hundreds of communities we assist do not have to imagine this. It is their reality. Do something right now by donating. Your Islamic help in the form of sadaqah, zakaat or lillah can make a difference to their future… and your eternal future.
Our education projects are particularly close our hearts. This is because we believe that supporting children and education will have long term benefits to the children, and the wider community. We wish to empower everyone we work with, helping each man, woman and child become responsible citizens of this dunya. With Allah’s help, your duas and donations, it can happen!
Our Motivation
We are inspired by the first word of the holy Quran revealed to our beloved Prophet (PBUH). “Iqra” meaning “Read”. The command to us is clear. Iqra has a broader meaning: to read with understanding; to read with intention to implement; to read to educate. Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.
Another beautiful Islamic saying which encourages us to be lifelong learners. Remember the beautiful saying of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “The best gift a father can provide for his child is education.” (Tirmidhi). We encourage you to join us in following his teachings. Donate towards our education projects, and we will ensure that your contribution, however big or small, will be used to change the lives of children, most beloved to Muhammad (PBUH) and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
Project Implementation
Apart from projects that we at Ummah Hands facilitate directly, we also collaborate with other organisations to provide Islamic and secular education in underprivileged communities in the UK and Bangladesh. So, whether you want your Islamic help to assist local Muslim children or those from an impoverished country like Bangladesh, all you have to do is scroll our appeal page. Your donations are used directly for the project only. Administration and other running expenses are covered by other loyal sponsors who believe in our work.
Our Recent Projects
Jamiah Darussunnah and Ummah Academy in Jagannathpur Sunamganj Bangladesh
We have identified an area in Bangladesh (Jagannathpur, Sunamganj), where we plan to build an Islamic school and are raising funds for this education project . We hope to provide education for as many as 200 children. We humbly appeal for your assistance in this effort. With Allah’s help, In Sha Allah, this education project will fulfil the children’s right to education and make a positive impact on the community. We hope that the Muslim children who will benefit from this school will become independent thinkers and confident young adults, Ameen.
Our target is £20 000 and we need your help and contributions of zakat, lillah and sadqah to reach our goal, In Sha Allah.
